ipc athletics_website_28-07-12July 28 - The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has unveiled another four new websites, for the sports of athletics, powerlifting, shooting and swimming.

The IPC is the international federation for the four sports, and the launch of the sites is the latest stage of their work promoting the Paralympic Movement across the globe.

The sites were designed and built by Atos, the IPC's worldwide IT Partner, and will give an insight into the four sports.

The new websites are microsites of the main IPC site, www.paralympic.org.

They integrate videos from previous Paralympics, historical results, and world and regional rankings.

All feature special sections for London 2012 with detailed explanations of classifications.

Craig Spence, the IPC's director of media and communications, told paralympic.org: "The new look sites are much fresher and easier to use for visitors and pay special focus on the ones to watch for London 2012.

"By being part of the overall IPC website the aim is that visitors to www.paralympic.org will flow through to the four sport sites and vice versa.

"The overall strategy is to bring all IPC sports together under one digital hub which users can access from multiple entry points."

Earlier this week the IPC unveiled two new websites it had built for the Cameroon and Panama Paralympic Committees.

More regional and National Paralympic Committee websites will be launched later this year.
