ISEM awardsNovember 3 - The 2012 International Sports Event Management (ISEM) awards ceremony – which has received a record number of entries from this year's most impressive sporting events, including London 2012 – has now officially sold out.


The ISEM awards ceremony taking place on Wednesday (November 7) at London's Cumberland Hotel, is the only international awards to recognise and honour excellence in the global sports event management industry.

This year's shortlist includes entries from London 2012, Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, Roland-Garros in Beijing, UEFA European Championships 2012, Rugby World Cup 2011, Volvo Ocean Race, Americas Cup, Pan American Games among many others.

"We are delighted that the ISEM Awards have sold out this year," said Nigel Rushman, the founder of the ISEM event.

"It highlights the high esteem with which the event is held in the sector and also the level of importance placed on competing to win an ISEM Award from the industry's leading companies."

The awards ceremony, currently in their sixth year, is held to coincide with the International Sports Event Management Conference, which discusses challenges and achievements in major sports events, presented through case studies, presentations and interactive panel debates.

This year's speakers include Sir Craig Reedie, International Olympic Committee (IOC) vice-president;, Hassan Al Thawadi, secretary general of Qatar 2022; Ross Young, chief operating officer of England Rugby 2015; Marcin Herra, chairman of PL.2012, one of the organisers of UEFA Euro 2012; and David Grevemberg, Glasgow 2014 chief executive.

The conference is due to take place on Wednesday and Thursday (November 7-8) at the Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch, London.
