Badminton

Fans can look forward to seven days of high-energy sport in sessions of men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

Basketball 3x3

Relatively new on the scene, basketball 3x3 will take place in a temporary arena in the Flag Square Cluster. Tickets will be in high demand to see the medal hopefuls.

Beach Soccer

Azerbaijan’s beautiful coast makes the ideal setting for FIFA’s variant that combines all the fun of the beach with all the improvisation skills of football played on sand.

Boxing

Adrenalin will run high over a 12 day period in the Crystal Hall, where competitors will test their strength, speed and reflexes to the limit.

Canoe Sprint

The oldest discipline of canoeing, canoe sprint, provides the perfect setting to follow exciting race-offs while soaking up the outdoors.

Cycling

BMX and mountain bike will have their own purpose built Veloparks. Time-trial and road race will take place on the roads of Baku.

Judo

Requiring athletes to be at the pinnacle of mental rigour and physical dexterity, this full-contact combat sport will take place at the Heydar Aliyev Sports Arena.

Karate

Close to 100 competitors will compete at the Crystal Hall, in what is fast becoming one of Europe’s most popular sports.

Shooting

Baku Shooting Centre will be completely upgraded for the Games. As this will be an event with guaranteed Olympic qualification, the suspense will be intense.

Table Tennis

Quick fire volleys and lightning reaction times, there is never a dull moment in table tennis. Men’s and women’s competitions will take place at Baku Sports Hall.

Taekwondo

Taekwondo requires a steely determination, focus and physical prowess. The European Games will be the official Olympic Qualification tournament for Europe.

Triathlon

Baku’s triathlon route promises plenty of opportunity for spectators to watch one of the world’s toughest endurance sports.

Volleyball

Some of Europe’s brightest stars in both beach and indoor volleyball will compete at the Beach Arena and Baku’s iconic seafront landmark, Crystal Hall.

Wrestling

Competition in both freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines will give talented athletes the chance to be European champion and qualify for the Olympics.

Baku 2015 Venues

Olympic Stadium

Olympic Stadium

North of the Village is the Stadium. It is currently under construction and will have a capacity of 65,000 spectators. The Stadium will host the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Completion date is Feb 2015.

Media Village

Athletes' Village

The Athletes' Village is made up of 13 Residential blocks and will host up to 9,000 athletes and officials. Of the 13 residential blocks, three will be completed this month in readiness for the two test events (European Youth Olympic Trials and European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships) in May and June of 2014. These three blocks will accommodate up to 1,500 athletes and officials, and will also house a dining hall with a 700-people capacity, recreation areas, a welcome centre and small medical services centre.

Media Village

Media Village

The Media Village is located next to the Athletes Village in the Village cluster. Free transport is available between the media village and venues as part of a “T-ALL” loop system. Journalists will be able to work in every venue, will have access to the Athletes Village and will have working areas in the media village.

European Games Family Hotel

European Games Family Hotel

The Fairmont hotel has been confirmed as the European Games Family Headquarters in 2015. This 5-star hotel is located in the iconic Flame Towers close to the Old City of Baku and is part of the luxury FRHI brand featuring hotels throughout the world.

Tofiq Bahramov Stadium

Tofiq Bahramov Stadium

This is Azerbaijan’s largest stadium and holds 31,200 seats. It is the home ground for the Azerbaijan national football team and is also used by the Azerbaijan Premier League clubs in the final rounds of European competitions.

Located at the southern end of the Flag Square Cluster, the Baku Aquatics Centre will host the Swimming, Synchronized Swimming and Diving competitions. The venue is currently under construction.

Water Polo Arena

The Water Polo Arena is located at the southern end of the Flag Square Cluster. This is a temporary outdoor venue with a capacity of 2,000 spectator seats.

Beach Arena

Beach Arena

Another outdoor venue that is located immediately adjacent to the Water Polo Arena. It is also a temporary outdoor venue, with a current capacity of 3,000 spectator places.

Basketball Arena

Basketball Arena

The arena for basketball games will welcome the Basketball 3 on 3 competitions,to be conducted during 4 to 7 days.

Crystal Hall

Crystal Hall

Crystal Hall is located in the center of the Flag Square Cluster on a dramatic peninsula jutting out into the Bay of Baku. This very adaptable and multipurpose venue recently hosted Eurovision 2012 and will receive an additional permanent upgrade in preparation for the Games.

Baku Sports Hall

Baku Sports Hall

The Baku Sport Hall tops off the northern edge of the Flag Square Cluster. This existing venue will receive a major permanent upgrade that will be completed by February 2015.

Heydar Aliyev Arena

Heydar Aliyev Arena

The Heydar Aliyev Sports Arena is a 20-minute journey from the Athletes Village. This venue has hosted numerous sporting events and will be the home of Judo and Wrestling for the Games. The back of house and warm up areas of this venue will receive a major permanent upgrade for 2015.

Baku Shooting Centre

The Baku Shooting Centre is a 30-minute drive west of the Athletes Village. The existing venue will receive a permanent upgrade as part of the legacy of the European Games.

Mingachevir

Mingachevir

This venue was inspected by the European Canoe Association, which has given it preliminary approval to hold the Canoe competition, subject to detailed plans.
