July 30 - Jenny Hall (pictured) has been appointed as the new director for equine development for the British Equestrian Federation (BEF), it has been announced today.

She takes over from Graham Suggett, who is now the chairman of the National Equine Database (NED Ltd) Board.

Hall's appointment was confirmed at the BEF Council meeting.

From a farming background and having had an interest in performance sport horses since childhood, Hall now runs a thoroughbred breeding and sales enterprise as well as being a founder partner in a busy veterinary practice in Berkshire.

With experience of working as team vet to the senior three day event team and also with the BEF’s World Class development programme, Hall brings with her a wealth of experience.

Hall said: “I am thrilled to have been appointed and think I am well placed to understand the commercial and practical realities of the equestrian industry.

"I have always had an interest in the characteristics of the elite horse and have had the benefit of the experience of working first hand with the systems that have produced them."

Alongside Hall, BEF director of sports development, Dennis Bell, was reappointed by BEF Council for a further term.
