February 18 - Australia are advertising for a number of roles to help their team prepare for the London 2012 Paralympics, including a coordinator for hand cycling.


It is one of three positions currently being advertised by the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC).

The role, which is officially with Cycling Australia, will involve working under the direction of the para-cycling performance director Peter Day with the primary responsibility to assist in coaching and managing cyclist to achieve their highest level of sporting performance considering their personal, educational and professional development.

The other jobs being advertised are for a development coordinator based in Queensland and a sports operations assistant.

The development coordinator, which pays an annual salary of $45,000 (£26,000), is described as "a unique and innovative full-time role that will require the effective bringing together of National and State Sporting Organisations, Government and Disability Organisations to achieve the outcomes of the APC Strategic Plan".

The sports operations assistant, which is worth $40,375 (£23,300) per year, is a newly-created post within the APC Sport Operations and Development Division.

The role, based at the APC's headquarters at Sydney Olympic Park, is to assist in the organisation of all APC Paralympic teams ,including for London 2012.
