May 23 - Britain's Danny Greaves (pictured) and Hannah Cockcroft warmed-up for the BT Paralympic World Cup later this year with world records today.

Greaves,  the 2004 Paralympic discus champion, who was born with a foot deformity, threw 57.14 metres for a new best in his F44 class at the McCain Loughborough International.

Wheelchair racer Cockcroft, 17, set a new mark in the T34 400 metres.

Earlier this year, Greaves had thrown a lifetime best and unofficial world record of 56.50m in Sweden and continued that form at Loughborough with his impressive opening-round throw which beat the qualifying standard for the World Championships in New Zealand next January.

"That performance has come at a great time for me after my throw in Sweden," said Greaves, who is set to face Beijing Paralympic champion Jeremy Campbell at the BT Paralympic World Cup on Tuesday in Manchester.

"I don't typically go full throttle in the first round, so it was good for me.

"I've opened up really well this outdoor season and I can now realistically hope to better myself on Tuesday.

"I wanted to hit some good form early so I can get back into training to prepare with confidence for the late peak."

Cockcroft set her mark at the UK Athletics Disability Athletics Challenge event in Knowsley.

The teenager from Halifax beat Deborah Brennan's previous world mark of 1min 7.68sec - set back in 2002 - by over two seconds with a time of 1:05.51.
