July 20 - The World Sitting Volleyball Championships has been declared a resounding success by the Edmond Convention and Visitors Bureau with better than expected attendances, economic benefits and unprecdented international exposure.

Cathy Williams White, the director of the Edmond Convention and Visitors Bureau, claimed that the event at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) had provided a massive boost for the local economy and that the visiting teams had enjoyed the event.

She said: "Every team departing is thrilled and experienced true Edmond hospitality."

White said the event received a great deal of press coverage in other countries, giving Edmond overseas exposure.

UCO Wellness Center Director Mark Herrin was also pleased with the event in which Iran won the men's event and China the women's.

He said: "Overall, it was a tremendous success."
