July 22 - Europe’s domination at the 2010 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Shooting World Championships in Zagreb continued as Russia’s Marina Klimenchenko today took top spot in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol event.


With a result of 477.9 points, Klimenchenko was followed by South Korea’s Myungsoon Park with 466.4 points and Macedonia’s Olivera Nakovska-Bikova who amassed 462.4 points.

The result follows yesterday’s dominance by the continent after France’s Raphael Voltz claimed gold in the 10m air rifle standing with a result of 704.8.

Voltz was followed by Korea’s Jiseok Lee and New Zealand’s Michael Johnson who both finished less than one point behind the French athlete and within 0.1 point of each other.

In the Women’s 50m sport rifle 3x20, Sweden’s Lotta Helsinger finished first with a total of 666.9 points.

Coming in second and third places were Slovakia’s Veronika Vadovicova and China’s Cuiping Zhang respectively.
