August 2 - A new logo and renewed view of the future has been launched today by Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) as they continue their focus on achieving high performance results in the lead up to London 2012 and Sochi 2014.

The new logo, has been created by PNZ sponsor, Blue Star.

The logo is simple and reflects the values which both Blue Star and PNZ operate by, PNZ officials claimed.

Paralympics New Zealand is dedicated to enabling high performance athletes to achieve at the highest level by providing world class support and leadership," said Fiona Pickering, the chief executive of PNZ.

"Our approach in striving to provide our athletes with the very best in training techniques and technologies is of critical importance.

"Our new brand reflects this and secures PNZ as a cutting edge organisation focused on performance.

“We are thrilled with the new Paralympics New Zealand logo and are confident that New Zealand athletes will continue to excel with the silver fern over their heart."

New Zealand is coming off the back of a successful performance at the Winter Paralympics in Vancouver earlier this year where Adam Hall struck gold in the men's slalom.

That followed Beijing where the team won a total of 12 medals, including five gold, three of them by amputee swimmer Sophie Pascoe.

“Paralympics New Zealand is an organisation which demonstrates an unashamed commitment to achievement," said David Upe, the chief executive of Blue Star.

"Our team at Blue Star are committed to helping New Zealanders achieve, and by helping PNZ develop a logo that reflects their values, we are proud to do our part in raising the profile of Kiwis achieving on the world stage."
