September 16 - Senior members of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) are heading to Britain early next week in order to review the progress being made on the London 2012 Paralympic Games which are now less than two years away.

In what will be the seventh Project Review of the London 2012 Paralympics, a nine strong IPC contingent led by the chief executive Xavier Gonzalez, will meet with London 2012  to review a range of topics over three days from September 20-22.

These will include operational integration, arrivals and departures, broadcast, transport, technology, brand and marketing, commercial and communications for the 2012 Paralympics.

The IPC will also be given an update on the Organising Committee’s Games Maker recruitment programme, which was launched in July and aims to find 70,000 volunteers to work on the London 2012 Games, and receive a tour of a number of venues that will be used in 2012.

Gonzalez said: "With less than two years to go until the Games this is a very important meeting to receive progress updates and check that everything is still on schedule to deliver a highly successful Paralympic Games in London.

"As well as receiving updates, the three days will be about sharing ideas and knowledge to ensure that the Games are a distinctive and attractive event for the public, sponsors and media alike."
