Jaeger and Steudte win men's doubles luge title for Germany

It is victory for Germany’s Moritz Jaeger and Valentin Steudte in the men’s doubles luge competition.

The duo were the second fastest in the final run of the event, but it is enough for them to secure gold.

Jaeger and Steudte finish in a winning time of 1:49.649.

Fitting that Moritz wins gold in St Moritz.

Latvia’s Kaspars Rinks and Ardis Liepins finish as the runners-up in 1:49.951.

Bronze is claimed by Russia’s Mikhail Karnaukhov and Iurii Chirva, who rounded off the podium in 1:50.325.

The Russian pair were sixth after the first run of the competition but posted the quickest second run to rise up the standings.
