October 2 - Matt Skelhon (pictured) won his second gold medal of the International Paralympic Committee Shooting World Cup at Stoke Mandeville as Britian's team continued to dominate the competition.



Skelhon, who had claimed victory in the falling target competition on the opening day, struck gold again in the 10 metre air rifle prone R3 mixed SH1 category.

He finished ahead of Norway's Monica Lillehagen and Denmark's Kazimier Mechula.

Skelhon, who had won the gold medal in the category at the Beijing Paralympics in 2008, said, "Its a great feeling to win my third R3 gold of the year.

"It makes it even more sweet to win in my home country, in front of my family.

"I am as motivated as ever in my shooting and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to defend my title on home soil at the Paralympic Games London 2012.”

Another medal was won for Britain in the 10m air rifle prone R5 Mixed SH2 with Adam Fontain taking the bronze in an event won by Denmark's. Jonas Andersen with Sweden's Viktoria Wedin claiming silver.

The 20-year-old from Basildon, said: "I’m delighted to win a medal at this World Cup and play a part in the success of the GB team.

"Our medal hall proved that Britain is a force to be reckoned with."
