Channel_4_logoOctober 28 - Channel 4, host broadcaster of the London 2012 Paralympics, has stepped up its search to find the cream of disabled presenting talent for the Games.

The Paralympics Presenter Boot Camp begins on November 29 and will put 12 hopefuls through their paces in a week-long rigorous regime of interviewing and being barked at through an earpiece in order to find a television star.

Channel 4 Paralympics website editor James Ballardie said: "Presenter Boot Camp is there to help you fine tune the skills you've already got, and the lasting legacy of your hard work will be a future career as an in-demand media personality.

"You might be able to master the basics with a bit of training but you won't be in demand by anyone unless you can prove you can resist cracking under extreme pressure.

"We can't wait to sift the flotsam from the jetsam so if you're teetering on the brink of pressing 'Send' but holding back for whatever reason, now is the time to finalise your answers.

"We're looking for disabled sports presenting talent for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

"But we're also hoping to unearth mind-blowing new disabled on-screen talent for the spectrum of Channel 4's output - comedy, drama, documentaries, you name it.

"If you think you can own the screen then we want to know about it."

Applicants for the Channel 4 Paralympics Presenter Boot Camp must be over 18, considered to have a disability, have a valid YouTube account and provide contact details.

Applications must be received before midnight on November 14.
