Asian_Para_GamesDecember 8 - With just four days to go to the start of the 2010 Asian Para Games in Guangzhou, China, officials are working on the final transformation from last month's 16th Asian Games.

Throughout the "Flower City" hundreds of workers have been removing street banners and bus advertisements in favour of signage for the Games.

Nineteen competition venues and seven training venues have been chosen and in July test events were held for five sports, including goalball, wheelchair tennis, boccia, wheelchair basketball and para table tennis.

The Games will feature 19 sports, including athletics, swimming, cycling, rowing, goalball, football five-a-side, judo, bowling, football seven-a-side, boccia, volleyball (sitting), wheelchair basketball, wheelchair fencing, wheelchair tennis, shooting, archery, powerlifting, table tennis and badminton.

Preparations for the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games were completed simultaneously with the preparatory works for the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games, including the construction of disability-accessible facilities throughout the city and the promotion of special services for people with disabilities and humanist spirits.

The Asian Para Games will run from December 12-19 and are expected to attract more than 3,000 athletes and 2,000 officials from 41 Asian countries and regions.
