Sean_TreacyFebruary 7 - United States rugby international Sean Treacy (pictured right) has joined Paralympics Ireland for a three-month period from the Vodafone Ireland Foundation World of Difference Programme.

Treacy's role will be to develop an online and social media plan for Paralympics Ireland in the build-up to London 2012.

As a result, there will be some significant changes in content across all platforms including Facebook, Twitter and the soon to be relaunched website, Paralympics Ireland revealed.

The move follows the major rebranding of the entire organisation at the end of last month where they went from being the Paralympic Council of Ireland (PCI) to Paralympics Ireland.

"I'm really looking forward to the challenge ahead to ensure the achievements of Ireland's finest athletes are recognised appropriately by the Irish public, but driven in part by Paralympics Ireland's online platforms," said Treacy.

"I hope to be able to bring the message that Paralympic athletes in Ireland are Inspiring Beyond Belief to as wide an audience as possible."

Treacy, 22, represented the US at the 2008 International Rugby Board Junior World Championships in Wales.

He played in all five of America's matches.

Treacy now plays  for All-Ireland League Club Blackrock.
