Matt_DimbylowMarch 14 - A special golf tournament will take place later this month to raise funds to help disabled athletes take part in the London 2012 Paralympics.

The event will be held at Wyre Forest Golf Club in Worcestershire on March 30 to raise money for the Dream It, Believe It, Achieve it (DBA) charity which was set up by Great Britain cerebral palsy football star Matt Dimbylow (pictured).

Dimbylow represented Britain at the Beijing 2008 Paralympics and the 2010 BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester and has already run the London Marathon to raise funds for the DBA.

The charity aims to help disabled competitors participate at London 2012, lead a healthy lifestyle and enter further education to enable the development of their sporting potential.

Organiser of the event is Wyre Forest captain, and Matt's father, Mike.

He said: "There will also be related prizes for a birdie on every hole - dependent on the level of difficulty - from a packet of golf balls to an opportunity to beat the professional.

"Other features will be prizes for longest drive, nearest-the-pin, a twos competition and a raffle.

"Although Barchester is sponsoring the event, a donation is being made to the Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It fund."

The array of prizes include a £20,000 ($32,000) Mitsubishi car for a hole-in-one on the course's 13th, while a Portuguese villa holiday, golfing at the Belfry and three sets of Callaway irons will be available on other challenges.

The cost for the day is £30 ($48) per pair and is inclusive of all hole-in-one challenges, coffee and biscuits, a meal and free refreshments on the 10th tee.

Golfers wishing to take part should write to Mike Dimbylow at 9 Cleeve Close, Astley Cross, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, DY13 0NY for entry forms, enclosing a stamped addressed envelope.

More details are available by calling Mike Dimbylow on 01299 877130 or 0784 3432438 or he can be e-mailed here.
