Jason_HealyMay 27 - Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) has appointed Jason Healy (pictured) as its new performance analyst, it has been announced.


He will lead PNZ sports technology projects and will establish a Paralympic specific research Programme.

Fiona Pickering, chief executive of PNZ, said that the performance analyst role compliments and enhances the hgh performance expertise within the organisation.

"Through his role at NZASNI (New Zealand Academy of Sport North Institute), Jason has been working as a contractor with PNZ since March 2006 in the area of performance and technique analysis," said Pickering.

"We are excited to be in the position to secure Jason in a full time specialist role to further develop a world leading Paralympic performance analysis programme.

"The performance analysis programme will be clearly linked to supporting athletes winning medals at World Championships and London 2012 Paralympic Games."

Malcolm Humm, the PNZ performance director backed Healy to make a difference to the chances of New Zealand's athletes in big events. 

"He will continue to provide support to PNZ high performance athletes and coaches, whilst working with individual programme directors in the sports of bike, swimming and athletics," said Humm.

"He will develop and maintain athlete performance records and maintain a GAP to podium analysis strategy for all PNZ high performance athletes."
