Rwanada ParalympicsJanuary 2 - Rwanda will host a pilot project in Africa which will bring 70 disabled children together to attend a training clinic for sitting volleyball, goalball and athletics.

The eight day camp is due to run from February 12 until 18 with representatives being sent to the country from neighbouring Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi and Tanzania.

Ethiopia and Kenya will also send children, and the country's National Paralympic Committee President Dominique Bizimana said that the major goal will be to boost sport participation among disabled youngsters across Africa.

"Youth games for the disabled are held in Asia, Europe and other continents but there are not in Africa," he said.

"This pilot project will boost the games and other clinics will be held in other countries in the near future.

"All this is being done so that the continent can hold its first youth Paralympic Games."

Bizimana last year captained Rwanda to the World Sitting Volleyball Championships last year, qualifying for the London 2012 Paralympic Games in the process.
