Both institutions will support sports medicine at the Paralympic Championships. Participating athletes will be provided with specialist care and first aid, both locally and internationally. The hospital is a healthcare leader.

The agreement signed by the Bahrain Paralympic Committee and the Royal Hospital Bahrain aims to support people with disabilities and provide them with the necessary resources to compete on a level playing field with their peers. The strategy aims to support sports medicine at the Paralympic Games.

The way forward is to improve the quality of medical care provided to athletes with disabilities. To this end, the Bahrain Paralympic Committee has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Royal Hospital Bahrain, the leading hospital in the field of health care. The agreement will provide specialised medical care and first aid to athletes participating in the Paralympic Games at both local and international levels.

The agreement was signed by Mahmoud Ashouri, Bahrain Paralympic Committee Financial Director, and Dr Ahmed Al-Rashed, Royal Hospital Bahrain Chief Operating Officer. Also present was Sarah Hamza Hilal, Marketing and Public Relations Manager at Royal Hospital Bahrain.

The agreement covers the provision of specialist medical services to athletes. These include regular check-ups, ongoing healthcare, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and emergency medical care during competition. In order to provide and ensure the necessary service for the athletes, both institutions will work together.

The Bahrain Paralympic Committee expressed its satisfaction with this important partnership. It will enhance its ability to provide medical support to athletes and develop Paralympic sports in Bahrain. As for Dr Ahmed Al-Rashed, he expressed his pride in being part of this partnership and the provision of high quality medical care for Paralympic athletes.
