Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024 and three-time Olympic champion, Béatrice Dupuy, President and Managing Director of P&G France and Benelux, Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, accompanied by Alexis Hanquinquant, Paralympic champion in Para Triathlon and one of the six French athletes supported by P&G France and its brands, gathered at Pulse, the headquarters of Paris 2024, around this iconic object that inspires the dreams of athletes around the world.

Since 1932 and the Olympic Games of Lake Placid (winter) and Los Angeles (summer), the podium has been an integral part of the victory ceremony. "For an athlete, standing on the podium is a moment of pride, emotion and absolute success: you hang the medal around your neck and in an instant your dream becomes reality. You become part of the history of the Games," said Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet.

The podiums, grey in colour in homage to the roofs of Paris and designed not to overshadow the athletes' uniforms, will be used at all 329 medal ceremonies at the Olympic Games and at each of the 549 ceremonies at the Paralympic Games. "When you win a medal at the Olympic Games, you feel a little bit like you're on top of the world, so at least the athletes will feel like they're on top of Paris with this grey, which is reminiscent of the colour of the rooftops of Paris." He said.

Paris 2024 wanted to create continuity between the medal and the podium, two symbols of achievement that define the identity of the Games and the pride of the host country. "We are delighted to unveil the podiums for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, whose design follows the route of our medals, with a piece of the Eiffel Tower inside, inspired by the lines and curves based on the work of the great French architect Gustave Eiffel," he added. 

Made from French wood and 100% recycled plastic, the modular design of the podiums with interlocking modules for different configurations (individual or team Olympic/Paralympic events) allows a limited number of podiums to be produced (68 podiums in total). "With these podiums, made in France and made of 100% French recycled wood and plastic, we are offering athletes a real stage on which they will be proud to wear the colours of their country in front of the eyes of the whole world," he concluded.
