Ukrainian boxer Usyk won by split decision after knocking Fury down in the ninth round when the pair faced off in Riyadh earlier this month. The 35-year-old Briton somehow made it to the bell, but only one of the three judges at ringside scored the contest in his favour as the 'Gypsy King' suffered his first professional defeat. Usyk, 37, became the first man since Lennox Lewis in 1999 to claim the undisputed heavyweight title.

Both men were battered and bruised after a bout which lived up to all the hype having been postponed following an eye injury sustained by Fury in sparring. A rematch clause was in the original meeting and it has been invoked with Turki Alalshikh announcing the date.

London 2012 Olympic champion Usyk will take a perfect 22-0 record into what will be a greatly anticipated and lucrative rematch. The news means former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, who suffered two defeats to the Ukrainian, will have to wait that bit longer for a proposed 'Battle of Britain' clash with Fury.
