The International World Games Association (IWGA) and the Global Esports Federation have announced the signing of a Strategic Framework Agreement (SFA) aimed at exploring opportunities to integrate esports into future editions of The World Games.

The focus of the agreement is to showcase esports during The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China, scheduled from 7-17 August. This initiative aims to provide unique experiences that engage the esports community at one of the world's premier multi-sport events.

At the heart of the SFA is a shared commitment to develop and present world-class esports demonstrations at The World Games, with the ultimate goal of fully integrating esports into the event's sports program in the years ahead. The partnership aims to harness the vast potential of esports, creating a platform that bridges the gap between digital and traditional sports.

The partnership aims to enhance digital engagement and expand presence through innovative initiatives, with a focus on connecting deeply with the global esports community. The strategy involves forging new partnerships and launching creative projects to increase audience interaction and participation. Additionally, it aims to align with UNESCO’s Sustainable Development Goals by integrating social responsibility and sustainability into the events.
