The world champion and world number one won the final against Nour El Sherbini and Mostafa Asal in Bellevue. Gohar has now won 28 PSA titles in her career, extending her winning streak to 25 in a row. Asal was injured and was unable to win his fourth consecutive title. This trophy marks the end of the 2023-2024 season

Women's World Champion Nouran Gohar and Men's World No. 1 Ali Farag showed their form at the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club Hidden Valley Field House. Gohar won the final of the 2023-24 Xbox PSA World Tour Finals against Nour El Sherbini and Mostafa Asal respectively.

Gohar's performance is record-breaking as her victory takes her career PSA title tally to 28 and her match winning streak to 25. She defeated El Sherbini 7-11, 11-2, 11-9, 11-10 to claim her third Xbox PSA World Tour Finals trophy and her fifth consecutive PSA title.

Gohar has won the Black Ball Open, the El Gouna International, the PSA World Championships, the British Open and the Xbox PSA World Tour Finals in a row, defeating El Sherbini in the final of the last four of these events. Gohar has undoubtedly become El Sherbini's nemesis. She is the first woman to win the Xbox PSA World Tour Finals three times and this was the 28th PSA title of her career.

"At 9-7 [in the fourth game] I didn't want the match to end because I was really enjoying myself on court today," said Gohar. "The crowd made it even more exciting. Every squash player can relate to that. When you're on top form, feeling good and you have a great crowd, that's all you want. Thanks to Haitham [Effat, Gohar's coach] for today. He made a big difference, especially when I was 1-0 down and Nour was playing really well. I love coming back to Seattle, it's one of my favourite cities," said Gohar.

In the men's competition, Farag's match against Asal was interrupted when Asal retired with an injury midway through the second game. Farag's run of three consecutive wins at the Xbox PSA World Tour Finals came to an end. Asal had initially struggled with an injury sustained in his Group A clash with Farag on the second day of the tournament when he lunged at a ball. He needed to be treated and pushed through to be able to play in the Final. However, he was never 100% and was eventually forced to retire.

This allowed Farag to avenge his defeat in the British Open final two weeks ago against the world number two. It was the eighth title of the season for the Cairo-born player. He now has 41 PSA titles to his name.

"I couldn't have asked for a better season," said Farag. "You go through periods of demotivation and difficult personal issues, but I've had an incredible year. I've got an incredible family, Nour [El Tayeb, Farag's wife] and Farida [Farag's daughter] touring the world with me. I'm doing what I love most, touring the world and meeting incredible people. I've met amazing promoters like Shabana and YSK," he said.
