The three-day nations tournament in MMA and Striking MMA for seniors and under-18s will take place at the Club Náutico in the hometown of mythical football star Leo Messi. 

Attracting talent from the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts' membership across the Americas and the Caribbean, the championships will be broadcast live online internationally on GAMMA's Facebook and YouTube channels. 

In keeping with GAMMA's quest for Olympic recognition, the event will begin with an opening ceremony and conclude with medal ceremonies. The participating national teams are coming from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Uruguay and the USA. 

Entry to the event is free to the public on Friday, $6000 ARS (€6.09) on Saturday or Sunday and $10,000 ARS (€10.15) for a two-day package for Saturday and Sunday. 

The schedule is as follows (subject to change following the tournament draw): 

-Friday 5 July 10:00 - 11:00: Opening Ceremony; 12:00 - 19:00: Preliminary Rounds. 

-Saturday 6 July 10:00 - 12:30: Semi-finals (morning session); 13:30 - 17:00: Semi-finals (afternoon session). 

-Sunday 7 July 10:30 - 12:30: Finals (morning session); 14:00 - 18:00: Finals (afternoon session); 18:00 - 19:30: Medal Ceremony.

Headed by President Alexander Engelhardt and based in the Netherlands, the Global Martial Arts Association (GAMMA) is the world governing body for mixed martial arts (MMA), with a vision to develop the amateur and grassroots sport and lead it to formal, international and Olympic recognition.

About the tournament: 

-There will be 17 senior weight categories open for entry, including both male and female, in the two disciplines of MMA and Striking MMA. 

-The MMA bouts will be held under the GAMMA Amateur MMA Rules to ensure safe competition on consecutive days, but are open to both amateur and professional, elite martial arts competitors. 

-The Pan America's MMA Youth Championships for 16-17 year olds will also be held with open brackets in all weight classes. 

-Participating nations can enter a maximum of two athletes per weight class in each tournament.
