The 22-year-old, who broke the men's under-20s 110m hurdles world record twice within 24 hours in 2021, was born in Australia but is of French and Zimbabwean descent and represents France in international track and field competitions.

A documentary posted this week spotlighting Zhoya's preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games showed the young star asking designers of the French Olympic team's outfit for permission to wear a skirt to the opening ceremony rather than a pair of trousers.

The French Olympic squad's uniform has been designed by French fashion company Berluti and will be one of many hoping to steal the show during the ceremony. 

Berluti has dressed the French female athletes in sleek sleeveless jackets, skirts and trousers while the male athletes will appear in long-sleeved jackets and trousers.

Other than young hurdler and Dior ambassador Zhoya, that is who has now been granted permission to ditch the trousers and don a skirt designed by Berluti at the opening ceremony.
