Simone Biles wants to excel at the Olympic Games. For her uneven bars exercise, she has a new element named after her. It will be the sixth of her career, second only to Nellie Kim in gymnastics history.

When an Olympic Games are about to begin, everyone can point to the moments they don't want to miss. The opening and closing ceremonies, the 100m final, the basketball Dream Team, the marathon... Everyone's tastes are added to the list.

Since 2016, one of the highlights for many people has been Biles. In Rio, the new shining star of gymnastics emerged. The screen reflects talent, technique and plasticity when she appears. Pure spectacle. Four gold medals and one bronze medal.

In Tokyo 2020 came her low hours. She had to put mental health ahead of her sporting success. A new demonstration of Biles' body art was expected. But it was not to be. Nor did she leave empty-handed. For being part of the team competition, she won a silver. And individually, a bronze.

Now we are in Paris 2024. Biles, once again, one of the main attractions among all sports. It is announced that she is incorporating another element of her creation and will show it in the uneven bars exercise.

This will be the sixth time Biles has incorporated an element of her own. Only one gymnast has added more of her own moves: Nellie Kim. The Russian athlete invented seven elements in her exercises during her career. She is a gymnastics legend, with five gold medals and one silver medal at the Olympic Games between Montreal 1976 and Moscow 1980.

Biles already has five, two on floor, two on vault and one on beam. She can now add another on uneven bars when she sees fit during these Games. Another way of surpassing herself. No active gymnast has her own element on each of the four apparatuses.

The International Gymnastics Federation, on a scale from A to J, has rated this new element as difficulty E. It adds 0.5 points per difficulty. It consists of "a clear forward hip circle with 1 1/2 turns for handstands", according to the FIG.

If there was already a reason to enjoy Biles, now there is a new one.
