Jitka Cabelicka, a Czech cross-country mountain biker, recently filed an appeal challenging the decisions of the Czech Cycling Federation (CCF) and the Czech Olympic Committee (COC) regarding athlete nominations for the Women Elite category at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Cabelicka contended that the CCF and COC did not comply with the applicable nomination criteria and requested the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to order a reconsideration of the nominations, ensuring her selection for the event.

The CAS ad hoc Division, with a panel comprising Ms. Carine Dupeyron (FRA), Prof. Roberto Moreno (PAR), and Dr. Heiner Kahlert (GER), reviewed the case.

Just a few hours before the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, the panel rejected Cabelicka's appeal.

Due to the urgency of the situation, only the operative part of the decision was immediately released, with the full award and its detailed reasoning to be published at a later date.

Cabelicka is a prominent Czech cross-country mountain biker who had high hopes of representing her country at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Known for her competitive spirit and achievements in mountain biking, she aimed to compete in the Women Elite category, seeking to add an Olympic appearance to her career milestones.
