The men's tennis doubles event in Paris is highlighting the Spanish pair of Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal. Notably, they were featured at the opening ceremony as one of the final torchbearers before the ceremonial burning of the pepper.

This couple consists of a veteran Nadal and a young Alcaraz who already anticipated that he would show respect for the figure of his partner for all his career and for the admiration he professes.

There is another tennis couple to look at and in which youth and veterinary are also combined, to the point that one of them, Andy Murray, will withdraw from the courts precisely at these Olympic Games.

So, whoever will be your companion in the competitions, Dan Evans, also wants to show respect by giving, the United Kingdom, and one of the living legends of the sport, a medal that will serve as a farewell gift, something for which they are already training strongly.

The first match for both is this Sunday, against the Japanese Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori. Murray's continuous physical problems of the last years and his age, at 37, make him decide to conclude a career full of successes.

Especially as Murray has been battling physical problems for seven years. 2017 was the beginning of the downfall for a tennis player who was in the prime of his career. He was number one of the ATP Ranking.

It was 2016 which was Murray's best year. He won his second consecutive Olympic gold medal in Rio, his second Wimbledon and the ATP Finals. A total of 9 tournaments in one year. He had been a tennis star for several years, but his light started to fade soon after.

As an Olympian, he is the only tennis player to have won two Olympic singles gold medals, in 2012 and 2016. In addition, in 2012, he was a silver medallist in mixed doubles alongside Laura Robson.

Murray has also won Grand Slams and is one of the most important tennis players of recent years, sharing the top spot with the big three: Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal at the top.

For Evans, this will be his Olympic debut after he chose not to participate in the Games in 2016 and was then forced to leave Tokyo after contracting Covid.
