Equestrian Team Jumping final

Laura Collett, Tom McEwen and Rosalind Canter completed what is known as the "triathlon" of equestrians winning the gold in the Team Jumping event, the third part of the competition following Sunday’s cross country and Saturday’s rain-soaked dressage, which saw Laura Collett set an Olympic record. 

Japan came in third and host nation France collected silver as Team GB, including both Collett and McEwan who took home gold medals at the Tokyo 2020 Games, clinched Team GB's first gold medal of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Collett, who was riding on London 52, was the last of the British trio to ride and picked up a small penalty for going over the course time limit, but it made no difference.

“I’m on top of the world. I have never, ever ridden into an atmosphere like that,”  said 34-year-old Collett who was riding on her horse London 52. “Luckily, London is one trusty partner and so are my team.”

Equestrian Individual Jumping final

Michael Jung made history on 29 July by topping the leaderboard on his horse Chipmunk FRH and winning his third individual title at the Olympic Games following gold medals at the London 2012 Olympics and the Rio 2016 Olympics.

“I tried to stay really focused and to concentrate through the whole week, not thinking about the ceremony or the third gold medal,” said Jung. “It’s a really special moment for me.”

Team Australia's Chris Burton came second while Laura Collett secured individual bronze having won the Equestrian Team Jumping Final earlier that day.
