South Korea
won the gold medal in archery in the mixed team final at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Friday, in the various knockout rounds held at the Esplaanda des Invalides.


They beat Germany 6-0, leaving Germany with the silver medal, while the bronze went to the United States with their 6-2 win over India. The Korean team included women's  Lim Sihyeon and men's Woojin Kim, against Germany's Michelle Kroppen (women) and Florian Unruh (men).

Korea reached the semi-finals after a 6-2 defeat of India, who in turn had beaten Spain 5-3 in the quarter-finals. Germany beat the United States 5-3 in the semi-finals. In the quarter-finals India beat Spain, Korea beat Italy and USA beat Japan.

This triumph solidifies one more day South Korea's dominant position in the sport of archery, as South Korean men have now secured seven of the ten gold medals available since the event was first introduced at the Seoul Olympics in 1988.


The success of the South Korean archers is further underscored by their women's team, which triumphed on Sunday, earning their 10th consecutive gold medal. Lim is and star in this sport: she shot a world record of 694 points to lead the women's recurve qualifying in the first session of competition at Paris 2024, while her Korean team also set a new Olympic record.

And Kim Woojin is captain of Korea team, and got three men’s team gold medals from three Olympic Games – Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and now, Paris 2024.
