Another street sport has been installed in one of the most emblematic places in Paris. The tournament ended with the women's gold medal for Germany and the men's gold medal for the Netherlands, beating France in the final.

Short and exciting matches. That makes it possible to play more than one match a day. On Monday, the tournament was settled with the semi-finals in the afternoon and the finals in the evening. All the medals were on the same day, with the Place de La Concorde full of people.

In the women's semi-finals, Spain managed to beat the USA in extra time (18-16). It was a close game all the way, which looked like the USA would win with a basket by Rhyne Howard with 13 seconds to go, but Sandra Ygueravide equalised for Spain with five seconds left on the clock. Ygueravide herself sealed the win in overtime with a free throw. She scored half of Spain's points. The second semi-final was also very close, with Germany beating Canada with a basket at the buzzer by Sonja Greinacher, who scored 11 points in a 16-15 victory.

In the bronze final, Canada played with great focus. They dominated the scoreboard and even threatened to take the lead. But they fell apart in the last three minutes, leading 12-9. Hailey Van Lith and Dearica Hambey sparked the comeback, and Cierra Burdick closed out the game with seven seconds left (16-13).

The final was also very evenly matched. The Germans started with an advantage, but Spain came back and took a four-point lead halfway through the game (6-10). From there, Germany's defence held the game better, but they struggled to equalise.

With 30 seconds left, Greinacher scored a two-point shot to put Spain in a critical situation. Juana Camilion scored with 17 seconds left and then Germany lost the ball. But Spain failed to score on the last play and Germany took the gold (17-16).

The outcome of the men's tournament

The afternoon semi-finals were not as close as the women's semi-finals. The Netherlands beat Lithuania 20-9, with eight points from Worthy De Jong. France then downed Latvia 21-14, with nine points from Lucas Doussulier. There were 40 seconds of regulation time left in the game when the French came within 21 points.

The bronze medal match was exciting but also did not go to regulation time. Two free throws by Edvaldas Dziaugys clinched it with two seconds to go. The Lithuanians won 21-18 to take the bronze medal. Sarunas Vangelis was the top scorer with nine points.

La Concorde was on fire at the start of the men's final, with the French team on court. It was a game of back-and-forth scoring, although it was more often the home team that was ahead. Everything was heading towards an evenly matched end to the game.

A basket by Franck Seguela with 31 seconds left gave France a two-point lead. De Jong scored quickly to cut the deficit to a single point, then scored at the buzzer to force overtime. Whoever scored two points would be the champion.

Overtime started with De Jong getting the ball and taking the two-point shot, but missing it. After grabbing the rebound, France had possession and Timothe Vergiat scored the basket.

On the next possession, De Jong ran out of time and shot over the two-point horn. And this time he made it and the Netherlands were crowned champions, with France taking the silver medal.
