121 athletes from 52 nations, 2 refugee athletes and 2 Individual Neutral Athletes will compete in 10 medal events at Grand Palais at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Athletes will compete in 10 Kyorugi disciplines from 29-31 August.

The number has been a significant increase from the last Summer Games in Tokyo where the sport made its debut with 70 athletes from 36 nations.

The Bipartite process has been completed with 13 athletes (7 men and 6 women) having received the invitations to Paris 2024. Countries that have received the Bipartite invitations for their athletes include Afghanistan, Aruba, Central African Republic, Ivory Coast, Costa Rica, Georgia, Ghana, Greece, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Nepal and the USA.

Recently the International Paralympic Committee has also announced its Refugee athlete team. The World Taekwondo together with World Para Athletics have the highest number of of two athletes in the recently-announced team.

Zakia Khudadadi (Women K44 - 47kg), who competed in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, and Hasan Hassanzada (Men K44 -80kg) will be part of the Refugee team for Para Taekwondo in Paris.

Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Technical Delegate Chakir Chelbat said, that having two refugee athletes is a landmark achievement. 

"Thanks to the wise leadership of World Taekwondo President Dr. Chungwon Choue who has given hope and belief to refugees that they can become an Olympian or Paralympian. This will also inspire more refugee athletes to take up the sport and achieve their dreams," added Chelbat.
