The artistic swimming final was held today at the Aquatic Center in Paris. In today's event, the acrobatic routine was assessed, after both the technical routine and the free routine had already been evaluated in the previous days.

In this final event, China was the main favourite after being the country that had obtained the highest score in the two previous events. The next best countries coming in the overall were Spain and the United States, both very close in the overall. Following them were Japan and the home country France, which were just a few points behind Spain.

The gold medal went to the Chinese team, which won first place by a wide margin, accumulating a total of 996,1389. In second position was the United States with a total of 914.3421 points, a difference of 81.7968 points. Finally in third position was the Spanish team with 900.7319.

In fourth place was the French team with 886.8001 points, followed by the Japanese with 880.6841 points. In sixth place was the Canadian team with 859.2229, which despite being a country with a large number of Olympic medals in this discipline, was not able to reach the podium again. In seventh place was Mexico with 853.7932 points, which managed to return to a final since 1996 in the Olympic Games held in Atlanta.

Finally, Italy (845.9670 points) came in eighth, and then followed Australia (728.4358 points) and last place. The only African team in the final was Egypt who ended with (705.9814 points).

This was China's first gold medal in team artistic swimming, accumulating it now together with the five silver medals they already had and the two bronze medals. In the case of the United States, it is the second silver medal they have won, adding to the other five gold medals and two bronze medals.

In the case of Spain, it is their second bronze medal, making a total of 5 when added to the other three silver medals they already had. China joins the countries that have won a gold medal in this category. There are now four countries: Russia leads with 10 gold medals, followed by the United States with five, followed by Canada with three and now China with one.
