The teams from Brazil and Canada will face on Friday for the Gold in the women's beach volleyball final, while in the men's category the final, the next day, will be between Germany and Sweden.

The Brazilian couple formed by Ana Patricia and Duda will qualify for the final of the beach volleyball of the Olympic Games in Paris-2024, by defeating Thursday in the semi-finals the Australian Mariafe Artacho and Taliqua Clancy by 2-1 in a match with an electrifying outcome.

The number one in the world returned to a start with doubts, pressed in the second half to match the duel and in the third set they showed they managed to win with partials of 20-22, 21-15 and 15-12.

The Brazilians started better, with quick finishes, but the Australians, silver medal in Tokyo, were hired to get to the final points of the set equal and defended in the second set. The Brazilians pushed strong and closed the set by 21-15. The third set defined everything until the Carioca victory.

On the Canadian side, Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson made it through to the beach volleyball final with a 14-21, 22-20, 15-12 win over Switzerland's Tanja Hueberli and Nina Brunner,  in the semi-finals played on centre court at the Eiffel Tower

They got off to a bad start and Switzerland came close to winning in the second set, which made the match very tense.
Even so, they are saving all their energy for the final. "I think we haven't played our best volleyball yet. I think it's somewhere inside and I hope we can bring it out tomorrow," Humana-Paredes assured.

Elsewhere, in the first men's semi-final, Germany's Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler beat Norway's Anders Mol and Christian Soerum, Tokyo 2020 gold medallists, 21-13, 17-21, 15-13.

The German Ehlers, 2.11m tall, took advantage of his height and reach to take the first set. But the Norwegian pair came back and tied the match. A review of a fault at the net eventually gave the German pair the win.

Qatari pair Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan will face Sweden's David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig in the second men's semi-final.
