Indian wrestler Antim Panghal, has had a Paris 2024 debut that ended with a tough defeat in the first round. The Indian wrestler, has been a two-time world junior champion and senior world championship bronze medalist. 

In these games, there was great excitement for her first fight in the women's 53 kg wrestling category. The first round fight was against Yetgil Zeynep, a more experienced Turkish fighter. The clash was held at the Champ-de-Mars Arena, on Wednesday 7 and ended in a resounding (10-0) in Turkiye's favour.

Shortly after, Antim Panghal was embroiled in controversy after sending her sister to pick up her belongings at the Games Village, allegedly giving her an accreditation card while she was on her way to the airport. However, before she could collect her belongings, she was stopped by on-site security.

So, late Wednesday night, both Panghal and her sister found themselves at the police station trying to explain the situation that had occurred. Meanwhile, Panghal's support team of trainers Bhagat Singh and Vikas were also involved in a separate police matter.

They allegedly refused to pay the cab fare and behaved inappropriately with the driver. Finally, after starting an argument, they fled from the cab without paying, whereupon the cab driver reported the incident to the police.

Faced with this situation, Pangal recorded and published a video explaining the whole situation occurred that day. In a video posted, the athlete commented "it was not a good day for me. I lost. A lot is being spread about me, that's not true. I had a high fever and had gotten permission from my coach to go to the hotel with my sister.

"I needed some of my belongings that were at Games Village. My sister took my card and asked the officials there if she could take my belongings. They took her to the police station for accreditation verification."

In addition, during the video he denied allegations against his coaches, who claimed they were drunk and got into a violent altercation with a cab driver over the fare. "My coaches had stayed at the venue and when they wanted to come back, we booked a cab for them. My coaches didn't have enough cash and due to language problems, it led to an argument with the cab driver." stated the fighter.
