"Serious but out of danger" was the latest update from authorities regarding the health of the father of Spain’s rising football star. Mounir Nasroui, 32, apparently had a heated altercation on Wednesday night in a parking lot in the Rocafonda neighborhood of Mataró, Barcelona.

The Catalan police force, Mossos d'Esquadra, continue to investigate, tracking down the perpetrators of the knife attack on the Moroccan Nasroui, father of the Barcelona prodigy. Just minutes ago on Thursday, they arrested the alleged fourth suspect they had been searching for since last night. This brings the total to four, adding to the three already apprehended by a joint operation between the Mossos and the Mataró Local Police.

Charged with attempted homicide, police will be questioning several witnesses today. This will include the detainees and, of course, Mounir himself, once he is discharged from Can Ruti Hospital in Badalona and in a stable enough condition to recount the events following the grim incident.

Alongside family members, representatives from FC Barcelona and close associates of his son, who has been in constant contact despite not making a public statement, have visited the hospital. They are heavily concerned about his health.

The stabbing occurred around 9 pm, according to police reports. However, Nasroui's afternoon was much more turbulent. Videos circulating online showed the young Moroccan involved in a scuffle with neighbors from his suburb. Witnesses close to the situation say the quarrel started with “insults and the throwing of liquids” from neighbors towards the father, who was wearing his son's jersey with the number '27' on the back, along with a friend. Later footage shows Mataró Local Police separating the two groups and seeking explanations for the altercation. It seemed the situation was escalating.

However, as night fell, the Ronda de Rafael Estrany, near the initial location of the incident, witnessed individuals attacking Nasroui. The friend who accompanied the attack victim alerted the authorities immediately. Now, the puzzle pieces that led to this critical point need to be resolved.

Nasroui, who has over 500,000 followers on Instagram, where he is highly active with posts primarily about his son, began to gain prominence in Spanish show business after the Euro Cup due to his media appearances. He and his mother, Lamine’s grandmother, still live in Rocafonda, a neighborhood they haven’t forgotten. In fact, 'La Roja' and Barça star often celebrates goals with the "304" hand gesture, referring to their disctrict's postal code.

For his part, Yamal’s father is no stranger to controversy. His history includes unfortunate incidents such as last month’s viral insults to users and his attack on a VOX political party tent. However, this time, with the cause of the altercation still unclear, the scare for Nasroui has been significant.
