The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is actively encouraging experts worldwide to consider joining its Spontaneous Applicant Pool, an ongoing opportunity for those interested in contributing to the agency's critical Expert Advisory Groups (EAGs). WADA invites qualified individuals to submit their applications throughout the year.

WADA’s EAGs play an essential role in providing specialised knowledge and technical advice to the Agency’s Standing Committees and Management Team. These groups ensure that WADA remains at the forefront of anti-doping science, ethics, and practice. The current EAGs include:

  • Ethics
  • Gene and Cell Doping
  • Laboratory
  • Legal
  • National Anti-Doping Organisations (NADOs)*
  • Prohibited List
  • Social Science Research
  • Strategic Testing
  • Therapeutic Use Exemption

*It should be noted that membership in the NADO EAG is subject to a distinct process involving an election.

The Spontaneous Applicant Pool is not for immediate vacancies but for future opportunities within these EAGs. Applications submitted to the Pool are reviewed annually and considered when vacancies arise for the following year. Moreover, the Pool may also be used to form Working Groups (WGs) on an as-needed basis, allowing WADA to swiftly assemble the right expertise to address emerging challenges in anti-doping.

Applicants are advised that they will only be contacted if their expertise aligns with the specific needs of an EAG or WG.

How to Apply

Experts interested in contributing to WADA's mission are asked to submit the following documents:

  1. Spontaneous Application Form: Complete the form as per WADA’s requirements.
  2. Expression of Interest: A cover letter clearly referencing the relevant EAG or WG, outlining how their expertise can contribute to the group's work.
  3. Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV): The CV should comprehensively detail the applicant's experience and include contact information for two references.

Privacy and Data Handling

Applicants are reminded that by submitting their application, they consent to the sharing of their CV and other personal information with WADA for the purposes of review, evaluation, and approval. This process will be conducted in accordance with WADA’s Privacy Policy and Governance Regulations. Applicants should review the Privacy Policy to understand how their information will be handled. Applications will be retained as long as necessary, and applicants may opt out of the Pool at any time, leading to the destruction of their personal data in accordance with the privacy policy.

WADA’s Spontaneous Applicant Pool represents a unique opportunity for experts across various fields to contribute to the ongoing fight against doping in sports. By joining this Pool, professionals can potentially play a vital role in shaping the future of anti-doping efforts worldwide.
