England Golf has launched a new nationwide initiative titled "Get into Golf Week" in an attempt to promote accessibility and enjoyment of the sport.

The new nationwide initiative taking place at the end of summer hopes to highlight how golf can be accessible, enjoyable and affordable for everyone.

Kicking off on August 26, Get into Golf Week will "provide a perfect opportunity for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to experience the sport and its many benefits."

According to the release, it will showcase the fantastic facilities and experiences that golf clubs across England have to offer with numerous participating clubs hosting special sessions throughout the week all aimed at introducing newcomers in a supportive environment.

Get into Golf Week will reportedly include free and heavily discounted taster sessions where participants can learn basic golf skills, meet club members, hear about the health and wellness benefits of golf and engage in several family-friendly activities to encourage participation across generations.

"We believe that golf is a sport for everyone, and ‘Get into Golf Week’ is our way of opening the doors wide and inviting people to give it a try," said Matt Draper, Development and Membership Director at England Golf.

"Whether you're looking for a new hobby, a way to stay active, or a chance to meet new people, golf has something to offer. We're excited to showcase the inclusive and friendly nature of our golfing community."

The initiative also seeks to address common misconceptions about golf including being expensive and exclusive.

"Golf is evolving, and we want to show people that it's more accessible and diverse than ever before," added Drape "Get into Golf Week is about breaking down barriers and showing that golf can be played in different ways in different settings, fit into modern lifestyles, and is open to anyone that wants to give it a go."
