The department in northeastern France invited the delegation to train in the region, where they are provided with modern sports facilities equipped for the five sports in which they will compete in Paris in 2024. They are the only Paralympic delegation in this locality and the entire French territory.

Chef de mission, Alberto Almánzar, said taking this step to fine-tune the athletes’ skills ahead of the Games will guarantee better results.

"Being here means a lot to the Dominican Paralympic Committee (COPADOM) and the athletes, because this will allow us to arrive at the games with greater confidence," said Almánzar in a press release by Centro Caribe Sports.

According to Centro Caribe Sports, this opportunity is all thanks to the Moselle department which reached out to the team. The delegation also had the support of the Ministry of Sports (MIDEREC), the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) and Creating Olympic Dreams (CRESO) for their participation in the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.

"The Moselle authorities contacted us through Gilberto García (president of FEDOJUDO), to have our athletes at their preparation base before the celebration of the Paralympic Games, where they offer us lodging, food and local ground transportation," reported the president of COPADOM, Eladio Agramonte.

4,400 Para athletes from 182 countries will compete in 22 sports and 23 sports disciplines at the Paris Paralympic Games which begins on 28 August at 20:00 CEST.
