WTT Champions Macao 2024 will once again take place at the Macao East Asian Games Dome in September with returning presenting partner Galaxy Entertainment Group providing a star-studded line-up.

The highly anticipated WTT Champions Macao 2024 will see an array of Olympic medallists and table tennis elites compete between 9-15 September marking the WTT's fifth edition held in Macau.

Galaxy Entertainment Group continues its invaluable partnership with WTT helping to bring a range of world-class table tennis talent to China's "Las Vegas of the East."

The table tennis world will descend on the incredible Macao East Asian Games Dome in just over two weeks including range of Paris Olympians who helped China complete a clean sweep of 2024 Olympic gold medals.

Chen Meng of China, who successfully defended her gold medal in the women's singles at the Paris Olympics, will compete for her first WTT Macau champion title against her rival Sun Yingsha who is looking to lift her third WTT Macau trophy.

Newly crowned Paris Olympics gold medallist in the men's category Fan Zhendong of China will be up against compatriot and current world No. 1 Wang Chuqin who is also looks to lift the singles title at WTT Champions Macao for the third year running.

Meanwhile, renowned Olympians such as Sweden's Truls Moregard, Brazil's Hugo Calderano, Hina Hayata of Japan, and South Korea's Shin Yubin will be some of the other big names at the WTT Champions Macao 2024 hoping to hinder China's domination of both WTT Champions 2023 and WTT Champions 2022 events.

They will be joined by prodigious table tennis talent in France's 17-year-old sensation Felix Lebrun and Miwa Harimoto of Japan who is the youngest competitor despite having a Paris 2024 Women’s Team silver medal and a recent WTT Series title under her belt.

Participants will be able to earn up to 1000 ranking points as they compete for a prize pool of US$800,000 (around €720,000.



Key figures from Macao's sports community recently gathered for a press conference at the Galaxy International Convention Center in anticipation of the contest. 

“WTT has held several large-scale international table tennis events in Macao, along with the ITTF Men's and Women's World Cups while the recently concluded Paris Olympics, sparked a table tennis fever," said Luís Gomes, Acting President of the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, at the conference.

"We believe this year's WTT Champions Macao will once again be a popular sporting event for local residents and tourists. We thank the players for coming to Macao right after participating in the Paris Olympics to showcase their excellent skills to the public and tourists."

Buddy Lam, Director of Corporate Affairs at Galaxy Entertainment Group, echoed Gomes' excitement saying "We hope that through this series of activities, we can connect with different local communities and organisations, further spread the table tennis fever to the community, enhance sports-related exchanges, and contribute to Macao's development as a 'City of Sports'."

Tickets for the WTT Champions Macao 2024 went on sale on 23 August and can now be purchased through multiple platforms such as the Damai App, mCoin platform in the Mpay Macao Wallet APP, and the Macao Ticketing Network.
