With the introduction of an innovative new UEFA Champions League format, UEFA has revealed "Kick of Light," a fresh brand identity for the world's most renowned club football competition. This new identity is designed to reflect the latest evolution of the tournament.

The UEFA Champions League is known for delivering a unique, emotional, and captivating experience for clubs, players, and fans alike. These qualities are central to the new branding, which includes a revamped version of the iconic starball and its accompanying visuals, such as the ultimate stage stadium and the distinctive starball dome.

"Kick of Light" draws inspiration from the characteristics of a prism, which disperses white light into a spectrum of colors. In this new identity, the UEFA Champions League starball and stadium dome are crafted from glass, with colors dynamically shifting around the edges of the stars, symbolising the diverse clubs participating in the league phase. While the brand identity has undergone significant changes, iconic elements like the logo remain unchanged.

The essence of the UEFA Champions League, encapsulated in the phrase "the best of the best on the ultimate stage," is preserved in the "Kick of Light" identity. This new look maintains a premium, sophisticated, and prestigious aesthetic. UEFA aimed to create a younger, more contemporary expression of the brand that still resonates with long-time fans of the Champions League. The updated identity is especially tailored for digital communications and social media, helping to connect with younger audiences.

The new brand identity will be featured across all UEFA Champions League marketing, digital media, licensing, events, and broadcasting. Comprehensive toolkits have been developed to ensure consistent and cohesive brand activation by UEFA and its partners worldwide.

Additionally, the brand refresh includes a slightly updated re-recording of the UEFA Champions League anthem, one of the most iconic pieces of music in sports and entertainment. The anthem's original composer, Tony Britten, has enhanced the orchestration and re-recorded the music with a specially selected orchestra and the internationally acclaimed choir Tenebrae.
