The Great Green Run is now in its second edition. FULL CIRCLE PR

The second edition of the Great Green Run will take place on 12 October and the course will run through Singapore’s most beautiful locations, including the stunning Marina Bay Sands, starting and ending at the picturesque Marina Barrage.

Runners can choose between two distances, 5km and 10km, making it suitable for athletes of all ages and experience levels. Runners will receive an Interlek-certified run jersey and, upon completion, a unique finisher’s medal made from recycled wood. Organisers will donate part of the registration fee to Community Chest, the philanthropy and engagement arm of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) of Singapore, supporting more than 100 social service agencies.

Participants will also stand a chance to win exciting prizes – including flights to Lahti, Finland and Bhutan, as well as bicycles from sponsor Brompton.

The GGR is a sustainability-themed mass sporting event that aims at rallying and inspiring individuals, corporations and communities towards sustainability advocacy. The event aims to support Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 as well as four of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals; Good Health and Wellbeing, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, and Climate Action.

GGR seek to foster sustainability-centric lifestyles and actions, like responsible production and consumption, health and mental wellness. Senior Parliament Secretary Baey Yam Keng will be attending as the Guest of Honour, with the Singapore Environment Council serving as the event’s Certification Partner.

This year’s GGR will debut exciting new additions designed to inspire and promote sustainability including the Green Bazaar, which will feature a specially curated selection of sustainability-centric vendors. Attendees can explore over 50 stalls offering a range of food & beverage options, pre-loved and vintage retail selections as well as informative, fun-filled workshops.

Registration for the GGR will end on 8 September. The run kicks off 12 October at 7:00 SGT.
