Two venues have rolled out the red carpet for fans for the first time ever wishing to support British para-athletes, as well as other competitors, during these Paralympics. The activites, managed by Ocean Outdoor, are located in Battersea Power Station in the southwest and Westfield Shopping Centre in the west of the capital.

It’s hard to resist following the Paralympic Games in the southwest of the British metropolis. With dedicated seating, free entry, giant screens, and an excellent atmosphere to enjoy the frenzy and inherent competitiveness of an event of this caliber, the experience is set to be unforgettable. Not to mention, fans will also have the chance to experience the Games firsthand by trying out Paralympic sports themselves.

This will take place only in the main fan zone, which is located at Battersea. Wheelchair racing, wheelchair fencing, and boccia are some of the mini-events that will be set up in these historic fan zones, allowing fans to follow the progress of the Paralympic Games. There's even talk that certain venues will offer meet-and-greet opportunities with Paralympic athletes from previous editions.

It’s worth noting that both locations have previously hosted fan zones during the Olympics, but this is the first time they will feature the Paralympics. These zones were already prepared, with all the organization completed before the spectacular and inspiring opening ceremony on 28 August.

In this way, London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol, and Southampton will have their zones open throughout each of the 11 days of the Games, allowing the public to gather and boost interest in a competition that, as Tony Estanguet, head of Paris 2024, aptly put it, "promises to be historic."

David Clarke, Chief Executive of ParalympicsGB, expressed his enthusiasm regarding this development: “I’m absolutely delighted that fans have the opportunity to gather, watch, and enjoy the Paris Paralympic Games in several zones across the country and, of course, to celebrate the achievements of the ParalympicsGB athletes.”

“The fan zones, along with the opportunities to try out a variety of Paralympic sports, offer the public a unique chance to truly enjoy these Games and all that Paralympic sport has to offer,” Clarke concluded, expressing how thrilled he was with how smoothly and positively the establishment of the fan zones had gone.
