SquashMay 4 - The Professional Squash Association (PSA) has confirmed the nine events which will comprise its PSA World Series during 2011.


The PSA will also be holding the World Open in Rotterdam from October 30 to November 6.

The World Series was launched this year and features a number of events with prize funds in excess of $100,000 (£61,000).

The events are meant to represent the pinnacle of the men's game, and they form a series throughout the year which will eventually lead to eight players competing for the PSA World Series Finals.

The JP Morgan Tournament of Champions in New York and North American Open in Virginia took place January 21-27 and February 20-26.

The next event will be the Australian Open in Canberra August 8-14, followed by the ROWE British Grand Prix in Manchester September 19-25.

The US Open, one of the world's oldest squash events, will be held between September 30 and October 6 in Philadelphia, before the series moves onto Doha for the Qatar Classic between October 16 and 21.

The Hong Kong open takes places November 15-20, followed by the Kuwait Open November 24-29, before the final event – the Punj Lloyd PSA Masters December 12-18.

Alex Gough, PSA chief executive, said: "We are delighted to have secured another great World Series line up for 2011.

"The prize money is ever increasing and the standard of the events is improving all the time.

"Our event organisers have to be congratulated as we are looking at more and more commitment from them as we push the game forward in many areas.

"This year's TV output and distribution will be the best yet and we are all looking forward to the players battling it out for this year's PSA World Series title."
