altJULY 31 - MEMBERS of Team GB in Beijing have all been provided with a mini-camcorder by Panasonic, the official worldwide Olympic partner in the audio and video equipment category.

This latest initiative is in addition to Panasonic’s technical partnership with the sailing, cycling and rowing teams, whose performance coaches already use similar camcorders to provide instant feedback during training.

Team GB were presented with the camcorders during their kitting out  at the NEC in June.

Some of the Team members are already recording video diaries on the British Olympic Association’s website at www.teamgb.com.

David Bonney, the advertising and sponsorship manager for Panasonic UK, said: “We are proud to provide Team GB with camcorders ahead of the Beijing Olympic Olympic Games and we hope they will allow the athletes to capture their unique experiences and memories.

"We wanted to give the camcorders in recognition of the hard work the athletes put into their training and they can even use them to aid any last minute preparation.”

Mark Zimmer, the BOA's director of corporate partnerships, said: “The Panasonic camcorders are a fantastic new addition to the kit presented to Team GB athletes.

"We are very grateful that Panasonic have allowed us to add a new dimension to the Olympic Games for Team GB athletes in Beijing as they will be able to record their own experiences to re-live throughout their lives.

"It will also give the supporters of Great Britain a chance to really experience the Games through the eyes of the athletes and live the Games with them by viewing the video diaries on teamgb.com.”
