london arts_festival_2012_03-10-11October 9 - The London Outdoor Arts Festival has put out a call for artists who can bring their creative flair to London for the summer of 2012 during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The artists are sought to be a part of a programme of events across the summer, which will take place in town centres, parks and other outdoor spaces across the 33 Boroughs of the capital, with visual arts, film and animation on offer.

This will form part of the London Mayor Boris Johnson's cultural strategy and lasts for seven weeks, bringing the arts to millions of tourists, from July 21 to September 9 next year.

Delivered by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and supported by Arts Council England, the project will be managed by the recently appointed Allium Opus, who also produced the UEFA Champions League Festival, which took place in Hyde Park earlier this year ahead of the final of the competition at Wembley in May.

The company's director Will Glendinning said: "It is rare that an opportunity like this comes along, so we eagerly seized the chance to be part of this amazing show of local, national and international creativity.

"We will be working across the whole of London during the summer of 2012 to bring the arts to everyone's doorstep for free, which will be nothing short of fantastic.

"Using a range of our services that have been honed across the sports, arts and marketing sectors, we will be working closely with the GLA to ensure the festival flourishes."
