altDECEMBER 21 - LONDON 2012 will launch its new business network in Manchester next month, it was announced today.

This event, it is claimed by London 2012 officials, offers a tremendous opportunity for businesses to learn more about the business opportunities resulting from the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

Speakers in the morning session will include Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell, Sebastian Coe, chairman of London 2012, John Armitt, chairman of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), Charles Allen, chairman of London's Nations and Regions Group, Richard Mould, head of procurement for London 2012, and Morag Stuart, head of procurement for the ODA.

The conference will feature the launch of the London 2012 Business Network that includes CompeteFor – the online resource that gives access to London 2012 opportunities and acts as a brokerage service between buyers and potential suppliers throughout the London 2012 supply chain.

The afternoon session will focus specifically on the construction supply chain.

It will detail the London 2012 construction commitments, designed to raise standards in the construction industry, and which organisations in the London 2012 supply chain, and soon all public sector construction projects, are encouraged to sign up to.

To express your interest in attending the event, please register online at www.eventsforce.net/2012competefor before Friday January 11 2008 and indicate your intention to attend the full day, morning, or afternoon sessions.
