The company, a worldwide Olympic sponsor, has four restaurants in the Olympic Park during London 2012, and 2,000 crew members will be chosen to work in those outlets.

More than 150 crew from around the world will also be working at the restaurants for McDonald's, which is the official restaurants for the Games.

Over 1,000 staff will be deployed for the Olympic Games and another 1,000 for the Paralympics, and will spend their time at a four star hotel in London where they can enjoy social activities and entertainment when they are not at work.

McDonald's has also trained 5,000 people on behalf of London 2012 to interview candidates for the 70,000 volunteer positions supporting the Olympic Games.

Jez Langhorn, McDonald's vice-president of personnel, said: "As a people business, that's a big employer in the UK and a big trainer and educator, we think it's a really good natural match for us to help London 2012 on this recruitment, training and retention for volunteers - and for their leadership as well.

"We hope that will build trust in McDonald's when they see the depth and strength of our training."
