Magdy Abdel_Ghany__1_March_March 3 - The International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) has confirmed that Egyptian Professional Footballers' Association President Magdy Abdel Ghany (pictured left) will be speaking at their annual conference in Doha on March 14 and 15.

The International Sport Security Conference (ISSC) will feature a host of leading experts in the world of sport security including Ghany, a former Egyptian footballer with more than 90 caps.

Egypt was recently rocked by the Port Said tragedy after a match between Masry and al-Ahly, which saw dozens killed and many more injured, leading to the indefinite postponement of the league.

Ghany will talk on the conference panel, "Taking a Stand: Addressing Hooliganism and Violence in Football", for which he will be joined by former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein (pictured below) and ICSS executive director Helmut Spahn, also the head of security of the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

ICSS President Mohammed Hanzab said: "Recent events in Egypt have tragically reminded us of the critical importance of hosting safe sporting events.

"The ICSS is committed to enhancing security and safety in the world of sport and as part of our role we are presenting this key session on hooliganism and violence in football at our annual conference.

"Magdy Abdel Ghany and David Dein join a distinguished line-up of speakers at the International Sport Security Conference.

"The event provides an important platform for sharing information and exploring best practice, as well as addressing the most pressing issues in sport today."
