Sochi organisers announced the decision ahead of Russia's World Championship final against Canada in Bern tomorrow.

 

Russia are the defending champions.

 

Sochi ambassadors agree to promote Russia, sports and Olympic values around the world.

 

Dmitry Chernyshenko, the chief executive of Sochi 2014, said another World Championship win would help promote the first Winter Olympics to be staged in Russia.

 

He said: "Russia is a winter sports country, and ice hockey is the number one sport for half of our country."
